I'm half way through and enjoying the story well enough, but I probably wouldnt have bought it if I had known it was largely a piece of Labyrinth fan fiction. I read plenty of that for free. Im not saying it's identical but the stories are mostly in paralell and there are bits of dialogue that I could match word for word from the movie. There are some interesting twists that make certain aspects opposite of the movie, but even the "mirror image" of the story just emphasizes the original it was based on for my experience....Product details

I truly enjoyed this read. It felt like an authentic fairy tale with gnomes and elves and other creatures. It had a King and Queen and Regent Lord. There was deception and intrigue of the lighter variety and the promise of a developing romance. There are two other books that follow this one and I will be reading them. Likable characters, satisfying plot development, overall an excellent fun read.
I am SO happy to see this coming from Patricia. I have been a long time follower of her pen name and am SUPER happy to see her publishing her own works. I can't wait to see more from her in this or any other story path she chooses to to venture down. She has moved the stars and turned the world upside down and inside out on a favored story, yet has done so in such a way that has me questioning all I've read in relation to the motives and history behind the characters. I can't wait to see more from Ms. Bryce and wish her ALL the luck that the other world can even purport to bring or give D
Patricia tells a good tale. She balances humor and tension fairly well, and makes it flow.
the story is gonna start very familiar to many... like an old friend... but Things aren't always what they seem in this place, so you can't take anything for granted. ... and the story becomes its own and makes its own paths and drags you along with it! Im looking forward to the next volume!
I have been reading this authors stories for a very long time and have long enjoyed it. This is very familiar yet different from what you would expect. An interesting way to read a familiar series
I love how this takes a well known story and turns it on its head. A story being told changes depending upon who is doing the telling, so don't believe everything you think you know... The characters are well developed and quite believable. I lost some sleep reading this late when I had to be at work early the next morning, but a good story is worth some lost sleep!
I normally would not pick this type of book, but was pleasantly surprised. I unfortunately have time to read a few chapters at a time. However I hated to put it down, but at the end I read like 5 chapters so excited to see what happened, can't wait to read the next in the series.
